I was adopted when I was 6 and I struggle to maintain any relationships
Symptom
When I was 6 I was adopted into a family without my brother and sister. My adoptive family were very nice in that I had everything I needed and they never shouted at me. They were however very factual and very undemonstrative. I know that they loved me but I never felt I really had any bond with them. When I was 21 they both died in a very short period of time and since then I have been self-sufficient. I have a good job and I work hard but I don’t really have a social life and I don’t really know how to go about it. I am now 27.
Possible Solution
I happened to slip on some ice one day on the way to work and really hurt my back. I went to the doctor and he referred me to an osteopath. I took the name he recommended and went to see them. When I got there he started to treat my back but I discovered he was more than just an osteopath and whilst he did help heal my back he also helped heal me. I went on seeing him for about two years every 3 months and I now go back once a year just for a check up. It was not the only thing he helped me with though he recommended I try art therapy and I joined a really good group who I now see every week. I have made some great friends and I feel as if my life is moving in a much more positive way.

I was adopted and now want to understand why
Symptom
I was adopted as a small baby and have always known this and not really had any questions about it. My adoptive parents are really nice people and I love them dearly. I would not want to change anything however I do have questions about my birth etc. I don’t really want to track my natural parents but feel I could find out some answers without having to do this.
Possible Solution
I happened to have a bad bout of eczema due to some stress at work so a friend suggested that I went to see a homeopath. She started by treating this but over the course of the next few months other things started to get discussed and she recommended I see either a CBT specialist or a cranial osteopath. I was lucky enough that I could afford both so I thought I would try them both. I went to see the people my homeopath recommended and I saw the CBT counsellor twice and the cranial osteopath every three months for about a year. Between them they have given me the answers I needed and the ability to move forward without looking back!
