Divorce

My parents divorced when I was 11 and I have never really seen my dad since

My parents divorced when I was 11 and it was a fairly acrimonious one so my dad kind of left and that was it. My mum was very strong and I never felt unloved but I am now 30 and have my own family and I don’t understand why a dad would turn his back on his own child. I know he had an unhappy childhood but that’s about it. I have never had a problem with it all and always just accepted that that was what happened to me and I got on with it, but now I am finding it hard to think about anything else.
