Headaches
Symptom
I keep getting headaches. I have been to the doctor and had lots of tests but nothing has shown up. He has prescribed stronger and stronger painkillers but it has not really made any difference. I have an average diet and I smoke and drink moderately although I have tried giving both up for over a month to see if it made any difference which it did not. Sometimes they are so bad I have to go to bed which is not very easy when you have 3 children. My husband is fed up having to come home to help and I am fed up feeling lousy.
Possible solution
If one of your shoulders is slightly higher than the other this can give you terrible headaches. The difference can be so slight that you would not notice but an osteopath would. For me it was as simple as that. I went to see the osteopath three times and each time I went back the headaches were getting milder and milder. He gave me a number of exercises and recommended I also saw a kinesiologist which I did. Between the two my diet is better, my headaches have all but gone and I feel much healthier.

I was getting lots of headaches
I was getting lots of headaches after a stressful time caring for my mum and a friend suggested reflexology. I don’t like taking painkillers so I’d put up with the pain for as long as I could, then take ibuprofen. I wasn’t sure if I’d like having my feet touched as I hate being tickled, but it’s quite firm pressure and, after the first treatment, I felt wonderfully relaxed.
The theory behind reflexology is that different reflex points on the feet are linked to other areas and organs in the body. My big toe was painful and my reflexologist told me that corresponds to your head. It really made a difference. My headaches are under control and I honestly can’t remember the last time I took a painkiller.
