Anxiety
Tuesday 30th November
Anxiety affects many of us and for some it can be totally debilitating. For those that are severely affected they have to ask for help but what about those who get it mildly how to they manage their way through it. Generally in silence … but why are we so ashamed to admit we are scared or dont feel as if we are coping? We live is such a fast pace life it is no wonder we find it all a bit overwhelming sometimes. For me cranial osteopathy, yoga, meditation and exercise are the key things to keep on top of my life and I do all of them religiously. If you have never tried any of them try just taking 5 minutes out and breathing slowly – go somewhere quiet and take a deep breath in and then breath out really slowly, listen to your breath and feel your rib cage going up and down. Do this 5 times and see how you heart rate has slowed down and you will feel calmer ( even if just for a short time). If you can get in the habit of doing this everytime you feel things getting a little bit on top of you, you will automatically start thinking about your breathing. It wont solve the problems but it will help you start to break them down into little sections and they will seem much more manageable
