Shiatsu

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of therapeutic bodywork that is relaxing, restorative and beneficial to health. Based on similar principles to acupuncture, it shares common elements with many other therapies including massage, healing and acupressure.

Shiatsu can be used as a one-off treatment to address specific issues e.g neck pain or it can be used on a long term basis to create and maintain a state of health and balance. Shiatsu treats the whole person not just the condition or symptom.

The benefits of shiatsu are far reaching and many come for treatment on a regular basis to de-stress and revitalise.

Treatment takes place on a padded mat or futon at floor level in a warm relaxing environment. The client remains fully clothed throughout the session, and it is recommended that a loose top and trousers be worn.

Shiatsu can help with anxiety, asthma and breathing disorders, back problems, depression, digestive disorders, headaches and migraines, IBS, insomnia and fatigue, joint pain and reduced mobility, menstrual problems, neck and shoulder stiffness, stress and tension, trauma, as well as many other commonly experienced ailments.
