Back in 1996, I was a University Lecturer, However, following a series of viruses and a period of stress, my health broke down completely and I was diagnosed as suffering from ME; my immune system stopped working properly and I was plagued with pain, exhaustion and insomnia. For months at a time I was too weak to stand.
Continuing with my career became impossible and I was forced to resign from my lectureship. I tried many holistic therapies, and over a period of a couple of years gradually began to get stronger. I found that those therapies based on the subtle energy system of the body were the ones which really helped me feel better; in particular Reiki, Chi Gung and Tai Chi.
